The important factor responsible for increase in prices is faulty planning and unrealistic assumptions on the part of the Government. We have spent crores in fifteen years for the economic plans of the country. It offers little consolation that the country’s economy has reached such a critical stage. Heavy industrial projects have been undertaken. Keeping Hoards of food grains and other commodities is a criminal offence but it is a pity that in a democratic country, like India it passes unnoticed. Excess profiteering and unscrupulous traders must be brought to book and the iron hands of law must have a firm grip over the unpatriotic activities. Government together with common people should pull their socks in order to control the growth of price in India. Balance growth of economy is necessary for the survival of all the different classes of society.

PRICE RISE OR RISE IN POVERTY???
The rise in prices of essential commodities has created a worse economic situation in India. It is not only a threat but a challenge to the stability of the society as a whole. The argument is advanced that rising prices are-a necessary feature of a developing economy. But it affords little satisfaction to the poor wage-earner who has been struggling hard and long to keep his body and soul together. One can understand fluctuation of prices of certain commodities but the peculiar feature is that they have gone up uniformly in all spheres that are essential to bare human existence! Unless this is checked immediately, it is bound to create economic explosion leading to social tension and political imbalance.
